Step 1 – Online
Independent international jurors will convene with our virtual jury tool to select the best 50% of all entries as finalists. Finalists will be published online and will receive five ranking points per entry.
Step 2 – Final Jury:
All finalists will be invited to the Final Jury, where about 50 design experts will come together in Berlin in March 2021 to select the winners of the iF DESIGN AWARD 2021. Award winners will receive 20 points, iF gold award winners will receive additional 100 points.
Our newly developed
criteria system with five main criteria, additional sub-criteria and total
score will enable a more objective and consistent judging process. It will also
make entries comparable, even across different disciplines.
Jurors will use a new
developed scorecard with five main
criteria and additional sub-criteria to score each entry. Scores will be used
to select finalists and will be passed on to participants.
Each participant will
receive the scorecard for each of their entries. Winners will receive a
detailed jury report. They will get additional exposure in the iF WORLD DESIGN
INDEX a new platform with insight on industries, regions and countries.
Finalists will be published and receive points for the iF top label ranking.
By only shipping 50% of
the entries to Germany, the carbon footprint of the iF DESIGN AWARD will be
reduced by up to 50%.
We updated our registration system to include more pictures, text for the five individual
criteria in addition to the possibility of presenting the entry with PDFs,
videos and links.
As a participant you will
get insight into the jury process and receive a scorecard for your entry.
Participants will see exactly how many points an entry has received for each of
the five criteria.
Our iF WORLD DESIGN INDEX
provides detailed data on the design performance of industries, countries,
creatives and companies. Winners will
also receive an exclusive jury report with background
information on what the jury noticed, and how your entry compares to its
