Having completed their studies in Schwäbisch Gmünd and briefly stayed in Berlin, Barbara and Gerd Baumann returned to the South German town in 1978 to establish the design office of Baumann & Baumann.
They develop comprehensive design and communication concepts for companies, institutions and communities, for exhibitions and trade fairs, for orientation and information systems, they design books and posters, wesites as well as other digital presentations.
Well-known is their work for the German Bundestag in Bonn, for the Great Court of the British Museum in London, for international companies such as Daimler, Siemens and WMF. But many smaller campaigns and cultural or social institutions also bear the stamp of their design.
In addition to numerous guest professorships, for some years at the Musashino Art University in Tokyo, the designer couple gave lectures at home and abroad, is able to look back on extensive publications and has been continuously honored for its work with national and international awards.
