Used air has a higher proportion of carbon dioxide than fresh air and apart from that, its oxygen content is significantly lower than that of fresh air. Used air also contains considerable more moisture than fresh air. With controlled residental ventilation, the ventilation devices use fans to transport used air and therefore CO2 and moisture through air ducts from inside to outside and feed fresh outside air into the room.
