The iF awards ceremony and exhibition, which should take place for the first time in Berlin as part of the Berlin Design Week on 4 May 2020, will not take place.
The situation regarding the spread of the coronavirus is still unpredictable and unforeseeable around the world. In addition, the German Chancellor has called for the cancellation of all major events in Germany. The organizers of the Berlin Design Week, have therefore also had to cancel their event.
"It was incredibly difficult for us to make this decision, but a pandemic of this magnitude and the health and safety issues involved, must, of course, take priority," explains Ralph Wiegmann, CEO iF International Forum Design GmbH in Hannover/Germany.
The 75 gold award winners will receive their iF sculptures personally through the iF representatives worldwide.
Preparations for the iF design award night in May 2021 in Berlin are already underway.
