As an iF gold award winner, you truly have something to talk about. After all, in 2017 you were one of the top award winners in the world, winning over the jury from 5,000 other entries.
Now is a good time to start planning your communication. Please remember to wait until the iF design award night on 10 March to start sharing your gold award, though.
When you decide to communicate your award, first choose your platform: social media, newsletter or direct press contact. Even better: a combination of all three.
In many countries, social media is an important way of connecting with users. But there are a lot of voices on social media, and sometimes it's hard to hear through the noise. If you reach out to someone else with your win, they can congratulate you on it and you've already reached more people.
Now is not the time to be shy. You just won one of the world's most prestigious awards for great design: celebrate a bit! Talk about how the award means you are design-driven, or about the great design you produce, or how an independent jury commended the quality of your innovation.
Personal contact is best! When reaching out to journalists, it's good to know who to contact. Make a media list with at least 20 journalists working in your field. Here's how.
Contact them with a story idea, and don't forget to mention you won an iF gold award.
We have a selection of templates – for press releases, social media and more – at our Benefits section. Get inspired or just use the samples.
Did you know that iF has a Press team to support you with your communication? Get in touch with Annegret Wulf-Pippig if you have a question or need a hand.

When you do social media or direct PR, make sure to give your audience a chance to find out more about you. Link to your website if you have one, or to your iF WORLD DESIGN GUIDE profile. After all, it's another way to tell people that your design has 'made it'.
