Fátima Pombo is professor in design at the University of Aveiro (Portugal). She held a visiting professorship at the University of Leuven (Belgium) architecture department for many years. Her research, publications and teaching focus primarily on phenomenology, interior architecture, home design history and aesthetics. Pombo participates in international research projects and conferences and is invited as expert for several academic activities. She publishes in Idea Journal, the Journal of Interior Design, the Journal of the British Society for Phenomenology and Architectoni.ca among others. She was an Alexander von Humboldt Foundation postdoctoral fellow at the University of Munich and did research at the University of Heidelberg while working on her doctorate from 1993 to 1995.
