GRAFT Berlin, Berlin, Germany
Thomas Willemeit founded GRAFT together with Wolfram Putz and Lars Krückeberg in Berlin in 1998. The office employs approximately 100 architects around the world today. Thomas studied architecture at the Technical University Brunswick, earned a degree as an architect in 1997 and took part in the Master’s Class on Architecture and Urban Planning at Bauhaus Dessau. GRAFT’s corporate portfolio was expanded by the addition of Solarkiosk GmbH, which was formed in 2009, and GRAFT Brandlab, which was founded as a communications agency at the interface linking architecture, design and branding in 2014. That also includes Heimat2, a company that offers sustainable housing complexes for modular and prefabricated construction that can be built quickly to accommodate refugees. Thomas has also won many awards as a violinist. (November 2016)
