Peter Krouwel is the director of Streetlife, a Dutch company and brand in innovative proudcts for public spaces, from bench to bridge. He founded Streetlife in 1997. Born in Amsterdam in 1952, he gradutated as an industrial designer at the Technical Univesity of Delft. In 1978 he set up the design and engineering consultancy "Peters en Krouwel", which became "n/p/k industrial design" later on. He left this international design office recently in 2003. During the 35 years of co-directing n/p/k, the company saw the collection of over 150 design awards, including 50 iF-awards. He lectured at various places around the globe and a book "Vision of Precision" was published. As an industrial designer he focussed increasingly on public design. Major projects in this field include: Letterboxes for the Dutch Post, infra-products for a high speed train track, national road signage for the ANWB, dinamic bus station, benches for the city of Rotterdam.
