Paul Gardien

Trained as an Industrial Design Engineer at the Technical University of Delft (the Netherlands), Paul Gardien joined Philips Design in 1989. He started as a designer in the professional equipment area, dealing with both product and user interface design for a broad spectrum of products (e.g. monitors, analytical equipment, security systems, etc.). As of 1993 he was responsible for interaction design and project management of user interfaces for interactive TV series (like: Video on Demand systems and Electronic Programme Guides). At the end of 1994 he initiated and managed the Multimedia design team within Philips Design as new capability group. Since 1997 he became responsible for the quality of the Philips Design user interface capability (interaction & visualisation) on a global scale as Senior Design Account Manager User Interface Design. Currently as Director Interactive Media Design, he is responsible for the development of Philips Design in the 'e'-domain.
