Norbert Haugg

Norbert Haugg was born in 1935 and received a degree in mechanical engineering from the Technical University in Munich. After working as anindustrial project engineer, he was hired as an inspector for the German Patent Office in 1967, where he was later made head of the organization and planning department. Between 1983 and 1986 he served as a judge in the Germand Federal Patent Corut, and then as presiding judge, at the German Patent Office. After holding the vice-presidency of German Federal Patent Court from 1991-1995, he became president of the German Patent Office in August 1995.
