Born 1943 in Kiel. Trained as a graphic designer. Studies at the University of Cologne, specializing in philosophy, mathematics and linguistics. Awarded doctorate in 1974. Joined the Institute of Linguistic Science at the University of Cologne and taught courses in theoretical linguistics until 1977. 1977-1982: assistant lecturer at the Institute of Philosophy, Theory of Science, History of Science and Technology at the Technical University lecturer in 1982. Since 1982 has been Professor of Industrial Design at the College of Plastic Arts in Braunschweig, specializing in design IT. (1995)
