Hkim Architects, Seoul, South Korea
Hyoeun Kim is the founder of Hkim Architects and adjunct professor at the Ewha Woman's University in Seoul. She appointed Chief Curator of Seoul Hall of Urbanism and Architecture in 2020. In 2017 and 2019 she was associate curator of the Seoul Biennale for Architecture and Urban Planning. Hyoeun graduated from Ewha Woman's University with a degree in Interior Design, went on to get a master's degree in Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania and is currently doing a doctorate in Architecture at Seoul National University. She began her career at OMA in the Netherlands and amassed a wealth of experience in architectural and urban planning projects around the world. Hyoeun and her partners founded the architectural practice AbCT in Seoul in 2009, in order to collaborate on various projects in Korea. She also taught at Sejong University and was a design consultant for the city of Seoul and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Korea. (July 2020)
