Illusion / Illusionistic Products

Illusion
Illusion

Illusions distort our perception of reality. They disable the physical laws and make the human experience infinite. This work explores the methods and principles of illusion. Related techniques are identified and getting adapted as a design basis. Based on the research a toolset was developed to analyse and to create illusive products. By changing different properties of a product – material, material impression, position of a product in a room, the usage motion or the product function – illusions can be created. Illusions are an aesthetic design element that allows, among the irritation and sensitization of perception,to meet emotinal needs.
