Solarbear / Solar Refrigeration System


Solarbear is about affordable refrigeration for the world in development. 30-40% of dariies and crops are lost due to insufficient refrigeration at the source, were no electricity is present. The Solarbear system uses a thermodynamic cycle to create ice by utilizing solar heat as energy input. The system itself is designed in such a way that it can be build with local tools and knowledge, it is scalable and adjustable to specific needs of varying locals. Solarbear empowers local communities by providing essential system parts; the accessory items are allowed to be manufactured locally (i.e. the type of insulation).
