The project name Made in Kenya refers to two things, the end result that is intended to be locally produced in Kenya and the field trip to Kenya that the project is based on. The result can be divided into three parts: 1.) A human powered juice extractor for small scale farmers in rural Kenya which can be produced locally by the large informal manufacturing sector, jua kali. 2.) Two sets of instructions, one for the farmer and one for jua kali. The instructions are solely visual which makes it accessible to illiterate users. 3.) An implementation strategy.
