Plant duct / Ventilation system

Plant duct
Plant duct

This is a vision of how plants could be used in an efficient way, in a future mars habitat. By integrate them into the ventilation system and more specific the duct sections the plants and ventilation system will work in symbiosis. With the constant airflow in the duct the plants will clean the air more efficiently and the noise traveling through the ducts will be reduced. The watering and lighting system are integrated into the duct module which makes it self sufficient.

The plants will not only help the astronauts physically but also mentally. Working with plants is shown to relief stress and it will also be a connection back to earth.
