The Safety Walker is an instrument that helps people who are color blindness and deaf. When deaf people cross the street, the Safety Walker is used to sense, direct and warn them immediately if they are in danger of sounds like horns, railroad alerts, and unexpected noises. For color-blind people, the Safety walker also uses a webcam color recognition system that displays the color information of a traffic light. This design utilizes a Retinal Imaging Display (RID) technology which allows the Safety Walker to show a translucent image in front of you. An intuitive reminder of the Safety Walker could also avoid danger because of the delay.
