Symbiosis / Combined washer & dryer

Symbiosis investigates the form of a semi-industrial washer / dryer in the context of shared laundry facilities which communicates sharing and it’s symbiotic relationship to the user.

The mutualistic model for symbiotic relationships found in nature inspired the concept where a resource; energy in the form of residual heat from the washer is used by the dryer. In return, the dryer provides a drying program reducing the number of empty maintenance washes required to sanitize odors and microbial growth caused by unventilated moisture in addition to prolonging it's life.

A sustainist product relationship for energy intensive domestic processes
