Raumbildendes Ornament | turn in(to) space

The theme contains two blocks of tasks. First a space forming ornament is to be developed. For this, the ornament is to be parted out of its role as decoration and its spatial abilities are to be examined.
Furthermore this developed conceptual approach is to be applied in a concrete, habitable project which is to be examined in terms of its qualities in realisation and construction. We intend to translate the ornament, the decoration of architecture and plastic arts, from its being two-dimensional into being a three-dimensional, space forming object.
