Origo 3D Printer

3D printing is a 30 year old technology. However, this is the first attempt at a relevant design of a 3D printer for the home environment. Ease of use, recycling of material, safety and the complete ecosystem surrounding the technology were addressed. Children were found to be the perfect target users who would introduce 3D printing into homes.
For the first time, the users and their needs, uses and expectations were considered. Prior this 'home' 3D printers were focused on replicating themselves, cost, precision and speed - they were answering the "What?" not the "Why?".
