Tembikar / Cookware

Teflon-coated pan has been used for quite long time. This kind of pan is often used because the coating gives non stick feature to the cookware. But behind its advantage, lays an environmental issue. The used pan is uneconomical to recycle due the presence of coating, neither dissolved by nature. That’s why it becomes waste that sit in landfill. Our solution is inspired by local wisdom in material using. In Indonesia, we make Serabi – a traditional dish – with terracotta pan that use no oil yet non sticky. We bring the material back through our design for its similarity in feature yet dissolvable after used, thanks to the material’s nature.
