The Invisible Fly Screen uses solar power to deter insects with ultrasonic sound. The Invisible Fly Screen is just that more specifically, it is an ultrasonic insect deterrent that activates when a window is opened. The product incorporates solar and electronic components as well as the window frame and glazing. The system uses a DSSC battery (a dye-sensitised solar cell) and FTO (fluorine doped tin oxide) glass to collect solar heat. Electrical power is then stored in a mini battery, which powers the ultrasonic speakers. The speakers are activated automatically when the window is opened.
