People are likely to be burnt by hot coffee or milk in cafes. The designed cup lid can avoid being scalded when a piece of heat-sensitive material near the opening of lid expands on heating and contracts on cooling. If the liquid temperature is over 80℃, the heat-sensitive material can block the opening and prevent hot water from pouring out. With the temperature falling, the opening opens gradually and even totally when it drops to 30℃.
