Today, there is a worldwide smartphone craze. Smartphones, which can be called a “small computer” in the palm of your hand, makes otherwise boring time fun by offering such features as games, internet surfing, and SNS. But the battery life is not so good, so that the smartphone can quickly run out of battery if you use it constantly. To people to whom smartphones have become part of their daily lives, their smartphones going dead creates so much sense of emptiness that it can be likened to they themselves dying. A concept design is proposed for a portable charger that can conveniently charge smartphones in such an emergency situation.
