bamboo canopy / water purification

bamboo canopy

Bamboo Canopy is a simple, low-cost, biodegradable water distillation device. A single bamboo is split into several pieces with a plastic material as its surface. The plastic material is made of a renewable cellulose material. The beauty of nature is brought into this product through the use of natural materials. Most of the diseases in the developing world are caused by contaminated water. In rural areas, it is common to see holes/wells dug for water sources but the water is usually contaminated and unsafe for consumption. Bamboo Canopy forms an inverted umbrella shape when opened and can be placed on top of these holes.
