Erasers have a characteristic – the more you use, the shorter it becomes.
Generally speaking, an eraser is coated with a layer of paper to make it easy to use, but the coated paper doesn’t shrink to fit the shortened eraser size. If we want to keep the piece of paper, we’ll have the use a scissor to trim it short, or to fold the paper inwards. Erase uses cut dotted line on the layer to make its length adaptable by tearing unwanted parts away.
