The tragic Norway mass murders in 2011, July had not only shocked the world, but also aroused public indignation and opinion leading to debates on death penalty and anti-death penalty. Death penalty has always been a controversial issue in the world today. Death penalty has been regarded by the anti-death penalty advocates as a brutal murder act. However, is releasing a cruel killer and leaving the rest of the people in jeopardy really a merciful act or it is the other way around?
