Connective boxes / Museum of Architecture

Connective boxes
Connective boxes

The location in a traditional urban tissue in Bucharest offers a unique spatial context.
Building on the idea of boxes assigned to major functions permits a playful approach to the interstitial space.
Proportions and heights of the main volumes allow for the integration into the existing urban fabric.
The ground floor houses functions which can stand alone like auditorium, café and temporary exhibition. These reinforce the public flow to the museum’s inner court and also create a link to the auxiliary access.
The three boxes dedicated to the permanent exhibition offer a neutral and flexible background for the display.
