The common wheelchair cannot stride across the drop like sidewalk. The auxiliaries on market are inconvenient to use and very expensive.
This concept put the non-barrier slope on the wheelchair. The auxiliary has no complicated structure or motor-driven part; the users can stride across a barrier by themselves without others’ help. The auxiliary can be installed on every manual wheelchair on market.
Base on NTUH’s opinions, the wheelchair’s users want to control the wheelchair without help if they can control their hands. Thus, this concept also gives users more unrestrained moving space.
