Shay Sora / Glass cups

Shay Sora
Shay Sora

'Shay Sora' is a modernized Egyptian tea glass design using traditional hand-made glass blowing technique and reusing unwanted industrial glass, natural clay for the band around the cover, and reused hay and newspapers for the package.

It is inspired from the shape and motion of the droplet, featuring a cover and an inward dip to allow a circular self-stirring motion.

The glasses can function without a spoon: add the sugar, cover the glass with its lid and stir in a circular motion until the sugar dissolves. The covers allow the glasses to be covered to keep in the warmth of the tea and to keep dust out.
