OAXIS BK7007 / Ebook Reader

COMPUTEX d&i awards 2011

COMPUTEX d&i awards 2011

The OAXIS BK7007 is a touch screen e-book reader that brings an interactive experience to reading. The product concept is built around elements of printed books. Its GUI uses a Bookmark to organize its menu functions - a natural and intuitive metaphor for this interface which users can easily relate to in this context. It invokes the familiar experience of a printed book with its book inspired aesthetics. Its cylindrical left edge looks like a book spine while the other edges are designed to look like pages bound between the book covers, creating the sensual form of a book. These book inspired aesthetics humanize the experience of reading.
