State Grid Pavilion - Magic Box / Spatial installation

State Grid Pavilion - Magic Box

Discipline: Interior Architecture

State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC), the national company for transmission and distribution of energy, is presented at the Expo 2010 in Shanghai. The company’s responsibilities and visions are communicated with regard to the Expo motto “Better City, Better Life”. A visionary spatial experience unfolds in the “Magic Box”, the heart of the pavilion. Standing on a glass bridge, the visitor is immersed in a 720°-film showing the way from the production of electric current to improvements in our cities. Prologue and epilogue form a grid out of which the virtual space opens. The power grid becomes the leitmotiv of the pavilion.
