Silk Road / Pedometer application

Silk Road

Discipline: Communication

Discipline: Communication

“Silk Road” is the unique pedometer application for mobile phones created by Sony Ericsson Japan in conjunction with NHK Broadcasting Association. Inspired by NHK’s popular “Silk Road” documentary series, it provides the virtual journey of the “Silk Road” trade route across Asia to Europe as you walk each day. 100 check points are set throughout Xian in China to Rome in Italy. When reaching a check point, you can see photos and read about its significance in the ancient trading period. A special certificate is issued upon arrival of the final destination.
