Viatu means shoes in Swahili language which is the main African language.
Designer's thoughts on abandoned things.
How will you abandon your old pair of shoes?
Countless pairs of shoes everyday are being dumped.
We collect these abandoned shoes with the help of UNICEF to recycle them produce new pairs of shoes and give them to the children of Africa.
Viatu do not use gluing or other manufacturing work but are made by using the slipsole and laces of the sneakers.
The newly manufactured shoes are placed in boxes labelled viatu and unicef then are handed over to the African children.
