Spatial Interaction / kitchen tap

Spatial Interaction
Spatial Interaction

A hygienic kitchen tap made out of Corian. Water volume, temperature and a choice between a regular water flow or a shower-like water flow are controlled by hand gestures only. To yield water, one performs a gesture along one of the 2 sides of the tap as if one drags the water out. Left side for hot water, right for cold, mix the two water sources to obtain the desired temperature. The speed of the gestures is reflected in the amount of given water. For a shower-like water flow, one moves its hand outward at the front of the tap, as if the water flow is widened. Feedback for temperature and volume is given by 2 LEDs at the front of the tap.
