flexible Structure / Material

flexible Structure
flexible Structure

The exceptional characteristic of this folded pattern is the transformation from a two-dimensional unstabel sheet into a three-dimensional structure that combines both stability and flexibility. Pointed notches create a segmentation of the surface into a regular grid thus enabling the material to fold. The hinge effect that arises at the bent edges of the polyester sheet Axpet allows a movable pattern that is reversible many times. The application of this folded plastic could be used in design whenever a flexible texture is required. Technical features such as moving systems or even packaging- and 3D sandwich material could also be possible.
