conception and design of a modular, non-hierarchical signage system for touristic places of interest in dusseldorf, germany. the system will be placed within the city limits on strategical meaningful route- and street-crossings and works without any kind of „distributor“. the system is based on a 3.50 meters high steeltube. it is grooved in 8 places. per destination, one module is attached on the tube. every single module works as a direction sign because of its form itself. provided with a flute, it is fixed in the chosen direction. a prototype of the system can be visited on the area of the dusseldorf university of applied sciences.
