iF concept design award 2011

The Invisio is a new kind of TV that has been specially designed to accommodate the shift in media consumption habits and the trends of the coming decade. Unlike conventional flat screen TVs, which are big, black, annoying rectangles when in standby mode or turned off, the Invisio is no more than a clear, frameless glass surface, which means that it can be discreetly integrated into any interior decor. This new product was created by combining different display technologies and a design based on the philosophy that “watching TV” doesn’t mean that you also have to “see” it.

Plain glass is the new black. A glass screen replaces the omnipresent black of the usual television screen. The effect is not only a welcome reduction in perceived mass, but also less visual dominance of the appliance in the living
