An alarm clock does the same thing for everyone, every day. The goal was to encase its rather monotonic function into a non-static embodiment.
The hour glass silhouette is a subtle reminder of how your time in bed is limited.
A spherical form in addition to a low center of gravity contribute to interesting and non-static states of balance. The playful format of Hour Glass invites the user to interact; give it a spin, after setting the alarm, to direct the speakers.
It will always stand upright and rock gently with you and your favorite music.
