Kiebitz / Teapreparation

Kiebitz
Kiebitz

kiebitz is a semiautomatic tea urn which simplifies making tea by combinig a timer, a thermometer, a tea strainer, a kettle and a tea pot.
When the desired water temperature is reached, an acoustic signal indicates to tilt the tea pot to 90 degrees. The hot water mingles with the tea, the brewing time begins and the water stays at the same temperature. After brewing another sound signalizes to tilt the tea pot back. The tea is ready and kept warm. It is not a fully automatic tea urn, because the ceremonial aspect, in which the user is part of the process, is very important. The tea pot is designed with regard to its basic function: tilting.
