roots of rainy days / unbrella stand

roots of rainy days
roots of rainy days

Only in rainy days, umbrella stands attract people’s attention. Umbrella stands quietly locate themselves around the corners near entrances. Their senses of existence become stable and strong due to the coming of rain. The raindrops slide down from the surface of umbrella and are absorbed by the sponge in the umbrella stand. The color of sponge darkens owing to the moisture. It gradually displays the patterns of roots. It seems that the roots absorb and store the water, waiting for the next rainy day.
