Virginia Tech (VT) e-Bike share is a university based electrical bicycle sharing program. Utilizing an existing electric bike concept by Smart© and an original rack design, VT e-bike share is an attempt to help alleviate student commuters addiction to cars. The bicycle rack is designed to act as a security system and to use inductive charging to recharge bicycles in order to help simplify the user experience. Membership would be dealt with on the Virginia Tech school website and through existing student ID cards. VT e-bike share is meant to promote sustainability on campus by providing an appealing and accessible alternative to cars.
