Current screening campaigns in developing countries are based on Clinical Breast Examination (CBE), simple and effective, yet time consuming, tedious and culturally insensitive. "Hanap" is a portable screening unit based on Thermography, a non-invasive, no-touch, highly sensitive screen for breast cancer as an alternative to CBE. Cancer cells recruit blood vessels to support its rapid, unregulated growth. This increased vascularization can be detected by thermal imaging as hot spots years before the tumor grows large enough for mammography to detect it. Thermal is a cheap technology, thus a viable solution in a developing world scenario.
