Minimal Music Hall / A spatial concept for music

Minimal Music Hall
Minimal Music Hall

A spatial concept for a piece of music and its genre, making its reception an audiovisual experience as intense as the music itself can be. The "Music For 18 Musicians" by Steve Reich gets separated into 18 audio tracks, audiovisually represented by 18 Gaintubes in a fully mirrored room. Each Gaintube plays its audiosignal and visualizes it in the Style of a VU meter, so the whole installation is filled with flickering and pulsing lights accompanied by an innovative spatial sound experience. Slowly changing over a period of one hour, the coloring of the Gaintubes is based on a color concept inspired by the structure of Reich's music.
