As a design student always dealing with pushpins to pin up sketches and presentation, it often stings when I collect a pile of them in my hand. One day, I was observing my cat and found an interesting relation to how they retract their nails and an idea for a safer pushpin. I came to this biomimicry idea of making a pushpin which feels like pebbles in your hand and only expose the nail when in use. The nail comes out of its silicone body as you press against a wall. When you pull it out of the wall, the silicone body will cover back the nail.
