An incomplete telephone box 07 / Spare urban space redesign

An incomplete telephone box 07
An incomplete telephone box 07

This an extendible project for people to think, debate and reflect about re-using this British culture icon, a telephone box.

When a spare space becomes more unnecessary, people might tend to ignore it much more. For instance, people walk by many telephone boxes without any attention, like nothing exists there.

Is that true? What exists, what doesn’t?

I use one-way mirrors to cover a telephone box. When it is seen from far away, the reflection makes this space look as though it has disappeared in a big environment. When walking by, people will see their own reflected image in the mirror, only then to be reminded that this space exists.
