The buoys are dropped from airplanes right onto the oilslick.
Tubes are released from the bottom of the buoy and then inflated by a gas. A net - stretched up by the tubes - floates up. Its lipophilic surface binds the oil without chemicals.
An annular strap allows for almost every ship to retrieve the net and the oil.
Every buoy is able to cover up to 2000 sqm. The combination of many buoys allows to retain the oil much faster and better than conventional methods.
Its construction is robust and low-tech. It is stackable and easy to produce.
GPS and radar reflectors allow to locate the buoys easily.
