Every year China produces 80,000,000,000 pairs of throwaway chopsticks with cutting down around 45,000,000 trees, a tremendous waste of wood resources and destruction of natural environment. But people cannot stop using throwaway chopsticks due to their convenience and low prices. Considering that only one-third of the length is contacting with food and all the rest part is just hold by our hand, I design a portable tie-in connector with one end being a metal tube and the inner surface screw threaded to screw the throwaway chopstick’s head. In this case, only a quarter of the wood is to be used and around 33,750,000 trees are saved one year.
