Haptic Reader helps the blind to read non-braille books. When you place it on the page of a book, it scans the letters on the page. The letters are converted to Braille characters, which appear on the surface of the device. The text can also be converted to voice, which is played through the embedded speaker. It saves books in flash memory once scanned so that it can be shared with others. Thanks to built-in Wi-Fi technology, they are now not only read for themselves but also meet with others to share the books they read about. It enables for the visually impaired to socially interact with others through sharing stories.
