Anstandsstück / cakeplate

The porcelain cakeplate 'Anstand' with the single slice of cake arose from the examination of our manners. Is there an interaction of our table manners and the physical objects surrounding us? „Anstandsstück“ is a German term for the last piece of food one does not take without asking, a behavior deeply routed in the German culture. The cakeplate symbolises not only the 'Anstandsstück' but also intensifies the problem associated with it, inviting to reflect on and define one’s own behavior.
